JOSÉ MIGUEL ARMIJO V

I am a Chilean space architect and systems engineer, dedicated to design sustainable habitats for space exploration. Growing up in the Atacama Region, one of the driest places on earth - a mars - like landscape - shaped my passion for extraterrestrial architecture.
EXPERTISE & EXPERIENCE

Axiom Space | 2022 - Present

  • Leading habitat design for the next - generation Low Earth Orbit station.
Extraterrestrial Infrastructure & Space systems
  • Integrating astronaut feedback to optimize livability and functionality.

Systems Engineer | 2016 - 2022

  • Contributed to space station architecture and Martian habitat development.
  • Specialized in systems itegration, sustainable construction, and ISRU for off - world environments.
NASA Mars 3D Printed Habitat Challenge
  • Developed an advanced Martian habitat concept utilizing in - situ resource utilization (ISRU) and robotic construction.
  • This project laid the foundation for my ongoing research in extraterrestrial architecture and planetary habitats.

Finalist 2015
